Position Summary:

Are you a social media addict with a large following on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, or YouTube? Are you dying to land a dream job working in social media? Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for marketing, and dynamite personality?

BookRenter.com is seeking the perfect candidate to become our Social Media Community Coordinator/Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Senior Social Media Strategist to successfully execute our corporate social media strategy.
  • Daily development and deployment of creative and targeted content across all of our social platforms.
  • Closely listen and monitor all brand chatter, conversations, kudos and questions.
  • Manage comment moderation for all platforms to encourage a high volume of dialog.
  • Ensure full-time coverage of social channels during off-hours and for high volume posts.
  • Periodically review our social media policy to provide feedback based on recent user experiences.
  • Help brainstorm unique, tactical and timely promotional campaigns featuring incentives, contests, giveaways, etc.
  • Become fully acquainted with BookRenter’s (primarily collegiate) social media audience.
  • Watch for key chatter which might benefit or need attention from Marketing, Public Relations, Customer Service, Product Development or Business Development.
  • Monitor real time trending topics on Google and Twitter and integrate agile real time content in addition to the baseline scheduled editorial content.
  • Reach out to targeted influencers cultivating relationships with social student power users, bloggers, and online media.
  • Engage in online conversations adhering to brand voice guidelines while simultaneously allowing your personality to shine through to develop relationships with collegiate/customer advocates.
  •  Inspire users across all channels to share our content, recommend our company and endorse their experiences.
  • Draft and schedule weekly social and blog content according to best practices with respect to tone, subject matter, frequency and timing.
  • Leverage social software to update key metrics report using social data.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Extensive experience engaging with users on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linked In, YouTube and Blogs.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; very strong attention to detail.
  • Experience creating, editing, tagging and uploading video content.
  • Experience with a wide variety of video media platforms: digital, social, mobile/apps, interactive, etc.
  • Strong social media following on your personal networks.
  • Avid reader of social and mobile tech blogs (Mashable, TechCrunch, etc)
  • Early adopter (i.e. Google + is old news for you, now it’s all about A Small World)
  • Passion for marketing, sales and social media.
  • Ensemble player (not a diva) with regard to social media skills
  • Open to new training and ideas
  • Journalist-type thinker
  • Huge mobile user-apps, location based services, etc.
  • Willing to mesh your personal and professional life online.
  • Understand technology, but love people.
  • Possess strong intellectual and emotional curiosity.
  • Very cautious and thoughtful, not impulsive or reactive.
  • Strong social media following on your personal networks.
  • Friendly, patient and responsive.
  • Creative and detail-oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of marketing experience, particularly using social media channels, tools, and platforms.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; very strong attention to detail.
  • Customer centric marketer focused on delivering flawless marketing programs.
  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of college students.
  • Independent self-starter; ability to multi-task.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and sense of humor are both absolutely required.
  • BA/BS in Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field.
